Eastern Partnership cooperation in the fight against irregular migration – Supporting the implementation of the Prague Process Action Plan (EaP – SIPPAP)
The Hungary led project “Eastern Partnership cooperation in the fight against irregular migration – Supporting the implementation of the Prague Process Action Plan (EaP – SIPPAP)” contributed to strategic and operational cooperation in the EaP region in the area of cross-border crimes prevention with a special focus on irregular migration.
The project specifically aimed to enhance bi- and multilateral international cooperation between EU-EaP and EaP-EaP countries in line with existing border management concepts; improve national inter-agency cooperation in the participating countries in line with existing border management concepts and support the improvement of training programmes in the national migration/law enforcement training institutions in the EaP countries .
The project was implemented by the consortium of the project partners (Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia, and Romania) under the lead of the Hungarian Ministry of Interior with the direct and permanent involvement of the project beneficiary institutions in all 6 EaP countries. Day-to-day project management and backstopping for all activities was provided by ICMPD’s project team.
The project contributes to the implementation of the Prague Process Action plan, which represents a consolidated approach of all project partners to promote and strengthen cooperation in the above-mentioned fields.
