The Prague Process Secretariat at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) has the pleasure to invite representatives of the non-EU Prague Process states to the World Border Security Congress titled ‘Patrolling the Periphery - Developing Border Strategies Through Co-operation and Technology’, which will take place on 25-27 March 2025 in Madrid, Spain.
The World Border Security Congress (WBSC) is a high-level annual event, this time hosted and supported by the Ministry of Interior, the Guardia Civil and National Police of Spain. The event brings border protection policymakers, management and practitioners together with security industry professionals, to discuss current international challenges in border management and protection. As every year, the Congress provides a platform for thought-provoking discussions about current and future policies, implementation issues, as well as new and developing technologies that contribute towards safe and secure border and migration management. Furthermore, this year’s programme offers site visits to the Madrid International Airport or the EUROSUR National Coordination Centre. Meanwhile, the thematic Closed Agency Workshops provide additional insights into modus operandi on drugs movement and human trafficking.
The Prague Process offers to facilitate participation in this activity that relates to the provisions I.4.f, I.6 and I.8 of the Prague Process Action Plan 2023-2027 endorsed in 2022. We are honoured to invite your country to nominate one English-speaking representative from the national border management authority for participation in the WBSC (no interpretation is foreseen).
