Workshop on Border Surveillance

Description

The Workshop on Border Surveillance is organized under Thematic Component 1, "Preventing and Fighting Irregular Migration and Migrant Smuggling," co-led by Hungary and the Kyrgyz Republic. The workshop builds on the previously organised activities under TC 1, including the Kick-off Workshop held in Budapest in February 2024 and the Study Visit to Bishkek in October 2024. Participants will explore recent developments and migration trends in the Prague Process region, examine strategies to effectively prevent and tackle irregular migration, migrant smuggling, and human trafficking, and discuss recent policy responses and reform efforts at national and EU level. 

The Prague Process states are kindly invited to appoint up to two representatives of the competent border guard authorities for participation in this event, which is meant for mid-management level. Please consider carefully the right target group for this activity. The workshop concept and practical note will reach registered participants in due time.
