The “International Summer School on Migration” was organised in Azerbaijan (4-10 September 2022) within the framework of two EU-funded projects, namely, the “Support to the Implementation of the Mobility Partnership in Azerbaijan” (MOBILAZE 2) project and the “Prague Process: Dialogue, Analyses and Training in Action” (PP DATA) initiative – component of the Mobility Partnership Facility (MPF). The projects are implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).
International academic experts from i.e. the Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford, University of Sussex, and the Maastricht University Graduate School of Governance and ICMPD lectured and mentored students. The academic experts provided an overview of different migration topics such as introduction to migration studies, migration and development, migration and economy, perception of migrants, migration law, migration data, etc.
The purpose and ultimate objective of the one-week Summer School are to further develop and foster critical academic exchange and reflection on migration issues among master students and young professionals of different disciplines. The Summer School programme focuses on research-oriented, multidisciplinary and innovative academic courses on issues related to the migration situation and policy in the EU and its Eastern neighbourhood.
